Tour Description
For a full-day tour of Cappadocia South-East, you will be taken from your hotel in the morning with a shuttle service. The Tour start time is between 09:00 and 09:30.
Exploring the largest and deepest underground city of Cappadocia and Turkey, we will go to the underground city of Derinkuyu, where we will descend to the center of the earth. The capacity of the city was 20,000 people.
This city is about 85 meters deep, and this underground city includes kitchens, warehouses, living quarters, wine cellars, stables, churches, water well, rock carving rooms.
The feature of Derinkuyu, what distinguishes it from other underground cities in Cappadocia, is a large vaulted room used as a missionary sehool.
Then we’ll go to Niğde. We will visit the Monastery of silver in Niğde. Here we will see the fresco of the smiling Virgin Mary in the cave churches, which were used as a residential area in history.
Now we will see the aqueducts left over from the Roman period that meet the water needs of the ancient city of Tiyana throughout history, and we will also have the opportunity to see the ancient Roman pool in the same area.
Continuing our tour, the route will take us to the Pigeon Valley Panorama, where we will take a photo break. We will complete the tour by visiting the jewelry workshop and store.
